I want to give you an update on Augustus who was on The Way of the Master Radio on May 22 some of you will remember that he was the young man that joined us at church the next night.
You'll be encouraged to know that he emailed me this weekend and said that he has been plugged into a church in San Antonio, TX where he is currently living.
He also shared that when he was with us, both Friday and Saturday after the radio program, he explained to that, "this is the first time that I haven't been drunk or high in years".
Please pray for Augustus. He received a tragic call this weekend. His brother was killed in Iraq (he stepped on a land mine) Augustus is really broken. He called Keith, my father-in-law, and Keith comforted Him with scripture. We also have been able to minister to Augustus through email.
In light of what has happened with him, I thought you'd be encouraged by what he recently wrote on his myspace profile:
"i just love to wake up in the morning and feel good and give thanks to the lord for another day that i am alive and for another beautiful day in which i get to live in because you never know what day will be your last. "

"Karen if you had one question to ask God what would it be?"
Karen, a sweet girl with a very sensitive conscience was on Hour 2 of The Way of the Master Radio. It seemed as if she and her boyfriend, Enrique, were very open to the gospel but simply lacked understanding and of course, regeneration.
Before the radio program I asked her, "Karen if you had one question to ask God what would it be?" Without hesitation she replied, "What will happen after death?"
I have found that this simple question is a great springboard to talk about the afterlife especially if they respond like Karen did and contrary to the mundane thoughts of our culture, it causes people to consider their transient nature.
"You caught us a little off-guard, but you couldn't have come at a better time!"
Michael was a Jewish young man that has been taught to reject the Messiah, Jesus. Ironically, Michael was read a portion of Isa. 53 on the radio by Todd Friel today on The Way of the Master Radio. Michael was convinced that Isa. 53 had to be coming from the New Testament, he was surprised to learn that it was not.
Witnessing to the Jewish community is always a treat because they know the 10 commandments and they're likely to understand their transgressions before Yahweh. Our prayer for Michael is that he would come to embrace Jesus as his Messiah and long awaited King. After I got back home, from the Southlake Town Center, this email was in my inbox and I wanted to share it with you. It was written to me by Molly (the young girl in pink).
Josh, a young man from Louisiana, was spending time working in Texas during summer. Josh had no idea that he was about to be confronted with the truth of the gospel in such a powerful way today on the first hour of The Way of the Master Radio.
It was just a normal day for Josh when we arrived at his job and we asked him to be on The Way of the Master Radio program. He was extremely eager to do so.
After the segment, Josh was sweating and looked stunned. "My head is spinning after talking to him." Josh explained, while referring to Todd Friel (Host of The Way of the Master Radio). "He really asked a lot of good questions."
Antonio was a very nice young man with a lot of responsibility for only being twenty years old. He had a girlfriend, a son (2 years old), and another child on the way. He was on The Way of the Master Radio Hour 2, today.
The first words out of Antonio's mouth when he hung up with Todd Friel (Host of The Way of the Master Radio) was, "It was...uh...eye-opening...I'll tell ya that! He made me think about things that I normally just don't think about...it was a journey." Antonio continues, "You know how people say, "that's a trip?" well this wasn't a trip...it was a journey!"
The next time you get rejected for the Gospel's sake or someone takes your tract and throws it in the trash or you get yelled at--be like a bee. A bee doesn’t sting the flower when it doesn't have pollen, it just moves on to the next flower to see if it can find pollen there.
So when you have a "bad" witnessing encounter, take courage friend and don’t get upset and “sting” the individual. Just move on to the next person. Remember not to take it personal. It's the message they are rejecting. I'm comforted by Jesus' words that are for the Christian, “Blessed are you when they revile and persecute you, and say all kinds of evil against you falsely for My sake. Rejoice and be exceedingly glad, for great is your reward in heaven, for so they persecuted the prophets who were before you." (Matt 5: 11-12).
There's no such thing as a bad witnessing encounter. Everytime we share our faith it is a winning situation! Special Thanks to Mark Spence for the analogy--it's stuck with me during times that I am tempted to "sting" an individual who has rejected the Gospel message.
Augustus, from Thursday's witnessing segment on The Way of the Master Radio, came to Sovereign Joy (my church) last Friday night! He actually did it.
He was really impacted and moved by the message preached by Pastor Jay and after the service was over a handful of the men from the church spent a great deal of time ministering to him. You will be overjoyed to know that he said, "I want to live for Christ...how can I not...look at all He has done for me!"
During the Friday night service, I looked over my shoulder and noticed that he had a small ESV bible in his hands (exactly like the one in the photo here) I wondered where he got it from and then later that night someone told me how Keith (my father-in-law) bought it for him and even had his name "Augustus" inscribed on the bottom right corner!
I had forgotten that my dear friend Chris was filming this whole witnessing encounter. It was shot during the Ambassadors' Academy right after Tony Miano did a baptism. These young men watched the entire baptism --what a perfect springboard for the Gospel! If you want to glorify the Lord Jesus Christ, edify the body of Christ, and reach the lost of this world with the Law and the Gospel the way Jesus and the apostles did go to the Ambassadors' Academy. This Academy equips Christians around the world to be bold ambassadors of Jesus Christ by providing intensive, three-day training seminars, ongoing discipleship, and networking—encompassing every aspect of ministry and training provided by Living Waters.
Ariana seemed very open to the Gospel and told me after she got off the air with Todd Friel that she would really "think about everything".
She said that while she was speaking with Todd the thought crossed her mind that if she and her friend where to crash their car on the way home that they would go "straight to hell". I gave her the good news, plus a few Gospel tracts... she was very grateful and gave me two hugs.
Learn more about Islam. Emilio Ramos has an introductory teaching on Islam and a teaching on the composition of the Quran that you might find helpful. You can listen HERE. Special thanks to our good friend Michael Hampton for editing this video!
Aaron not only heard the gospel today, but his other buddies listened in their car to the entire segment of The Way of the Master Radio as well.
Trisha followed up with the three young men right after Aaron got off the air. The other two boy's jumped out of their car and listened intently to the gospel for the second time.
Aaron, Devin, and Kyle if you are reading this, please don't wait until tomorrow to humble yourselves before God because tomorrow might not come. There is nothing more important than knowing where you will go when you die. Please repent of your sins and place all your faith in the Lord Jesus Christ. He, alone, is able to save you! Thank you for taking the time out of your busy day to be on the program...it means a lot.
This month has been extremely eventful. I've been planning for the Transformed conference taking place this Saturday in St. Louis, and preparing a message that I will be delivering to 300+ children on Sunday. In addition to that, its been an honor to help my husband, behind the scenes, with planting a new church, and to top it all off--my dear mom and step dad, Mike, came out from California to visit for over a week.
In the midst off all of this, I forgot to water my little green plant that sits on my office desk. I usually water it every other day--sometimes daily. Last year my dear Aunt Nancy sent it to me all the way from California for my birthday. I was proud of my self for finally having somewhat of a green thumb. Until today. I looked over in its direction and yelled out...
Remember Father Jim McGhee the Catholic priest at Saint Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Parish in Fort Worth, TX.? Meet Veronica! Jim McGhee is her priest. She was on Hour 2 of The Way of the Master Radio on Jan 24th 2008. Want to hear what she said to Ray Comfort? Listen Here
I realize that this video is about 4 months old --but it's just so well done that I wanted to make sure you didn’t miss it. We live in a time that is so relativistic and postmodern that finding individuals who are devoted to proclaiming the truth of God’s Word is a rare find. Thank you Kirk and John for standing up for truth and for being men of integrity—you are a blessing from God to the body of Christ. As I was watching this tonight, I found myself in front of the computer screen with tears flowing down my face—pondering, once again, how Christ found me, bought me…and that He redeemed my soul by His precious blood. It’s still so overwhelmingly wonderful and amazing! I hope you enjoy it as much as I have. All glory be to God.
What place is God at in your life? A PK tells us her thoughts...
Meet Kimberly, a pastors kid.
She's a student at Tarrant Community College
and was on The Way of the Master Radio last Thursday.
Click HERE to read what place God has in her life.
This is Christine Hubbard, Associate Professor of English at Tarrant Community College from last Thursday's fishing segment on The Way of the Master Radio. She said that she has been "born again" but then on and off the program she told Ray Comfort, Todd Friel and myself some interesting things.
Todd Friel is really not as tall as I thought after standing next to this young man. :-)
I went to the University of North Texas in Denton yesterday. Keith, is an atheist. He was on Hour 1 and spoke with Todd (Host of The Way of the Master Radio).
I tried to talk with Keith after the program but I could tell he was not interested. He said, "I'll take the risk of being wrong."
He refused to take a DVD I offered and didn't want the million dollar bill gospel tract either. Then as he hurried off down the campus stairs I said, "Please think about the things that were spoken to you today." He smiled.
If you would like to listen to the entire segment with Keith and Todd click here February 28, 2008 - Hour 1 it starts around the 40 min mark.
Remember Barry's witnessing encounter from last year?
Watch as Trish shows up unannounced at the Fort Worth Fire Department with three plates of cookies for the firefighters --all for The Way of the Master Radio. You get to watch Behind the Scenes.
This is Father Jim McGhee before he was on the air for The Way of the Master Radio last Thursday (see left photo). He is a priest at Saint Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic church, the largest Catholic parish in Fort Worth.
This is Jim after he got off of the program (see right photo). He was not very happy after he got off the phone with Ray Comfort and Todd Friel.
Jim's face was bright red, my phone was filled with sweat, and he didn't like the fact that Ray and Todd wanted to talk about justification by faith alone. He told me that ...
