Take the Tract Challenge

The Righteous Are As Bold As A Lion: Years ago, when I met my good friend Liz I realized that she struggled with speaking to strangers (even Christians) let alone evangelizing. So I began to challenge her week after week with small steps to help her overcome her fears. These challenges helped to strengthen her confidence in the Lord and gave her boldness to eventually share the gospel. Now she's unstoppable and not the same woman she use to be. I would like to present these same challenges to you. And if you are up to it please take these challenges to heart. Remember this, Proverbs 28:1 says, "The wicked flee when no one pursues, But the righteous are bold as a lion."

Here's Challenge Number 1: If you have never passed out a tract, I would like to extend a personal challenge to you. You have one week from the time you read this to pass out one single tract. Then post your story HERE or you can email your story to email [at] fishwithtrish.com.

Purchase Tracts:
If don't have any tracts you can purchase them at
Living Waters. They have the best tracts I've ever seen. Then when your tracts arrive, you have one week from the time they arrive to pass out your first tract.

Take the One-2-One Challenge

Take The Next Step: So you've passed out your first tract and maybe you've passed out far more than just one gospel tract and you're ready for more. Great job! Now I'd like to encourage you to take the next step and talk to someone about the Lord.

Here's Challenge Number 2: You have one week from today to talk with an unbeliever about Christ. We call this a one-to-one evangelism encounter. Perhaps you'll find someone at the grocery store, the mall, or at work. Maybe you have wanted to share the Gospel with your neighbor or family member. That this love for the lost and this challenge compel you to not put it off any longer.  I would be delighted to hear from you. Post your story on my
blog or email it to email [at] fishwithtrish.com.

Use Your Tracts: Tracts are great conversation starters. You can hand a Million Dollar Bill to someone and when they ask, "What's this?" tell them, "It has the million dollar question on the back--will you go to Heaven?" These work as a great springboard to the Gospel message.

If She Did It--So Can YOU:  Recently, my dear friend Michelle (21 years old) took me up on this very challenge. I gave her one week to witness to one person. She wrote very candidly about what happened as she took baby steps reach her goal to eventually speak with someone face-to-face. I think you will find her writings encouraging. Michelle accounts day-by-day what happened to her and describes step-by-step what she did. I hope these writings relieve you to know that you're not alone in taking bold steps to overcome your struggles and fears to share your faith. You can read them HERE.

Hell's Best Kept Secret
If you have never heard "Hell's Best Kept Secret" please take the a moment to listen to Ray Comfort make the case for using the "Law of God" (The Ten Commandments) as part of Biblical evangelism. Many years ago, this single message impacted my life forever and has changed the way I share my faith today. It has answers to why 80-90% of those making a decision for Christ fall away from the faith and it explains what is the principle that Spurgeon, Wesley, Whitefield, etc., used to reach the lost and why have the Church neglected it. Don't let anything stop you from listening to this incredible teaching.

True and False Conversion
This message explains why there are so many divorces, alcohol, drug, and abortion problems within the Church today. Are our churches really filled with true believers? I was glued to this message the first time I heard it. Please take the time to listen today. Ray Comfort and Living Waters encourage you to print off these free study sheets you can fill out while listening to the message.

Are you terrified to share your faith?...You're not alone!

Here's an email that was sent to me recently:

"I realize you are VERY busy and, most likely, won't have time to stop and write me (and that's ok!) but I was wondering if any of the Way of the Master shows talk about the 'fear of witnessing?' For me, I feel like I'm not doing enough to get the gospel out...my problem is...for me to go up to a stranger and give out a tract, it makes me shaky just thinking about it to be honest. It's ONLY strangers though. It makes me VERY sad and weary just thinking about all the unsaved people out in the world, but It doesn't help my fear..." Jessica

What Do I do if I get rejected for handing out a tract?...

The next time you get rejected for the Gospel's sake or someone takes your tract and throws it in the trash or you get yelled at, be like a bee. A bee doesn’t sting the flower when it doesn't have pollen, it just moves on to the next flower to see if it can find pollen there.

So when you have a "bad" witnessing encounter, take courage friend and don’t get upset and “sting” the individual. Just move on to the next person. Remember not to take it personal. It's the message they are rejecting. I'm comforted by Jesus' words that are for the Christian, “Blessed are you when they revile and persecute you, and say all kinds of evil against you falsely for My sake. Rejoice and be exceedingly glad, for great is your reward in heaven, for so they persecuted the prophets who were before you." (Matt 5: 11-12).

There's no such thing as a bad witnessing encounter. Every time we share our faith it is a winning situation! Special Thanks to Mark Spence for the analogy--it's stuck with me during times that I am tempted to "sting" an individual who has rejected the Gospel message.
